Prof. Ihtesham ur Rehman is a Founder of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health. He is currently serving as the Head of Translational Research at the University of Central Lancashire and a Professor of Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine. His 30-year career includes leading roles at Queen Mary University of London, Sheffield, and Lancaster. His research spans biomaterials, bio-spectroscopy, and bioengineering, with a focus on disease detection, antimicrobial resistance, and functional biomaterials. He founded the Interdisciplinary Research Center in Biomedical Materials (IRCBM) in Pakistan and co-founded the UK-Pakistan Science and Innovation Global Network (UPSIGN) to foster collaboration between both countries. He is responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight of the IRCOH, ensuring the integration of multiple disciplines to address health challenges.
Prof. Dr. Zafar Hayat is a distinguished academic leader, serving as the Principal of the College of Agriculture at the University of Sargodha (UOS) and the Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health. He has actively participated in many national and international research projects on sustainable poultry production. As Project Leader of the UOS-IDRC Project, he has been instrumental in advancing research and innovation in the poultry sector. He has published 200+ research papers as well as several conference proceedings and delivered lectures on sustainable poultry production nationally and internationally. His leadership extends beyond academia as he actively engages in interdisciplinary research collaborations that address global health challenges. With a deep commitment to education and research, he shaping the future of Animal Sciences and One Health associated disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal is the Co-Founder of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health. He is currently working as the Director of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization at the University of Sargodha. He is also heading the Business Incubation Center. Dr. Bilal has authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has successfully completed numerous national and international funded projects as well as industrial consultancies. As certified technopreneur-ship trainer, he has secured intellectual property rights and spinoff ventures. Also, he actively contributes to advancing interdisciplinary research initiatives through his leadership, promoting innovation and collaboration across ONE Health perspective.
Prof. Dr. Imran Ghafoor Chaudhary is the Additional Director (Learning) of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health at the University of Sargodha. He is currently working as the Director of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at the University of Sargodha. He holds PhD in Engineering Management from UET Taxila. He has almost 24 years’ experience in Academic Administration, Teaching and Research. He is responsible for developing and implementing learning strategies that enhance interdisciplinary education and training within the One Health framework. Through his leadership, he aims to advance the center’s mission of promoting holistic health solutions and ensuring that educational programs align with global health priorities.
Prof. Dr. Rehana Ilyas is the Additional Director (Community Services) at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health, University of Sargodha. With a PhD in Clinical Psychology, she possesses a deep understanding of mental health and its connection to broader health issues. As Director of Implementation, she plays a key role in the center's initiatives. Trained in various therapeutic methods such as art therapy, behavioral therapies, and music therapy, she has a long record of successful client rehabilitation. Additionally, she oversees the position of Controller of Examinations, ensuring academic integrity at the university. She also promoting interdisciplinary collaboration for One Health solutions that drive change for communities within and beyond the University.
Prof. Dr. Arfan Shahzad is the Additional Director (Business) of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health. He is Currently working as a Director of Malik Firoz Khan Noon Business School, University of Sargodha. He also serves as Director of Procurement. Previously, he spent 10 years as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Utara Malaysia, teaching strategic management and supervising doctoral students. He has published 70+ research papers and conducted training in data analysis and served in various leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer at R&D SerindIT.com. His responsibilities include promoting innovative business models and aligning initiatives with One Health priorities to create sustainable solutions that improve community health outcomes.
