One Health Nexus: Innovations, Biosecurity & Climate Resilience
The 2nd Interdisciplinary Research Conference on One-Health (IRCOH 2026) successfully brought together researchers, academicians and experts from different disciplines to promote collaboration in Human Health, Animal Health, Environmental Health, Biosecurity and Climate Resilience. The conference was organized with the collaboration and support of prominent academic, research and scientific institutions, including the University of Sargodha, University of the Punjab, Government College University Faisalabad, Pakistan Animal Health Diagnostic Authority (PAFDA), COMSTECH and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The conference was inaugurated by Rana Sikandar Hayat. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of IRCOH-2026 with distinguished guests and academic leaders.
The conference was graced by the presence of the Minister of Education, Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat, the Vice Chancellors of the University of Sargodha and the University of Education, and Prof. Dr. Ihtesham Ur Rehman.
Punjab Minister of Education Rana Sikandar Hayat inaugurated the two-day Interdisciplinary Research Conference on One Health (IRCOH 2026) at the University of Education, Lahore. The conference brought together Vice Chancellors, researchers, international experts, and participants to promote collaborative approaches for human, animal, and environmental health.
Prof. Dr. Ihtesham Ur Rehman, Founder of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health, stressed the urgent need for more such centers across Pakistan to strengthen health security through collaborative research.
Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Lahore, welcomed distinguished guests, researchers, and participants at the inauguration ceremony of IRCOH 2026. He emphasized the role of universities in promoting innovative research, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary solutions. "This conference and the newly launched centers reflect our vision to promote innovation and collaboration in addressing real-world health challenges." By connecting experts from medicine, veterinary sciences, agriculture, environment, and social sciences, we aim to deliver sustainable health solutions.
Eminent speakers shared their valuable research insights and discussed innovative approaches in One Health. The keynote sessions highlighted emerging challenges, interdisciplinary research opportunities, and collaborative solutions for human, animal, and environmental health.
