It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the Interdisciplinary Centre for One Health. The establishment of this Center marks a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing integrated, holistic approaches to health that recognize the intricate interconnections between human, animal, and environmental health. The center represents a visionary commitment to addressing complex global health challenges through an integrated, interdisciplinary lens. In an era of antimicrobial resistance, emerging infectious diseases, environmental degradation, and complex socio-ecological challenges, the One Health paradigm provides a vital framework for collaborative action. Our Centre is uniquely positioned to foster cross-sectoral research, education, and policy engagement, drawing upon diverse expertise from the biomedical sciences, animal sciences, environmental studies, public health, social sciences, and beyond. Our mission is to generate evidence-based solutions that are locally relevant and globally impactful while cultivating the next generation of One Health leaders and practitioners. We aim to serve as a hub of innovation and excellence in the One Health domain through strategic partnerships, interdisciplinary research initiatives, and community engagement. I invite scholars, students, policymakers, and stakeholders from all disciplines to join us in this transformative journey.
